│≡ SECTION I : OVERVIEW ≡│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
LOGIT is a utility to enhance the callers.log file by adding user
information to it. Information such as: When did the caller last call the
system, how many times has the caller logged on the system, what security
level was the caller, etc., without having to run another utility to see
such information.

│≡ SECTION III : FILES INCLUDED ≡│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
The files that make up the LOGIT system are listed below, along with a
description of their contents.
LOGIT.EXE : This is the program or executable file.
L2SETUP.EXE : This is the setup program for LOGIT and must reside in the
same directory as LOGIT.EXE.
LOGIT.DOC : The documentation (this file).
LOGIT.FRM : LOGIT registration order form.
The following file is not needed in the actual running of LOGIT v2.0, but
included as a representation of what LOGIT can accomplish.
SAMPLE.LOG : Example of a callers.log with LOGIT information included.

│≡ SECTION IV : FILES GENERATED BY LOGIT ≡│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
LOGIT.ERR : This file is generated when an error has occured. It will
contain the date and time the error occured and what type
of error.

│≡ SECTION V : L2SETUP PROGRAM ≡│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
The L2SETUP program is easy to use and has two (2) command parameters.
[1] L2SETUP CNF
This will setup the basic configuration file for LOGIT to use. This
must be used before you can use L2SETUP REGISTER. Answer the questions
for paths and options to include. If at any time you want to abort the
program, press ESC. This WILL NOT save any information and you'll have
to rerun L2SETUP CNF.
[2] L2SETUP REGISTER
This will allow you to register your copy of LOGIT. Answer the
questions for Sysop Name, BBS Name, Ownership and Registration Codes.
This will override the default information in the configuration file
with your registration information. If at any time you want to abort
the program, press ESC. This WILL NOT save any information and you'll
have to rerun L2SETUP REGISTER.

│≡ SECTION VI : INSTALLATION ≡│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Installing & setting up LOGIT is quick and easy. Just follow the steps
below:
1. Create a separate directory or use the SpitFire system directory for
LOGIT to run. LOGIT can be run from any directory.
2. Copy LOGIT.EXE, L2SETUP.EXE into the directory you have chosen.
From this directory, run L2SETUP CNF and answer the questions to
create your configuration file.
3. Create or edit the SFLOGON.BAT (found in the system directory) as
follows:
Example Of SFLOGON.BAT With LOGIT In A Separate Directory:
ECHO OFF
CD\LOGIT
LOGIT
CD\SF
Example Of SFLOGON.BAT With LOGIT In The Spitfire Directory:
ECHO OFF

│≡ SECTION VII : OPERATION ≡│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
When a caller logs onto a Spitfire BBS, a sfdoors.dat file is generated by
the SFLOGON.BAT file. When LOGIT is run in the batch file, it first checks
to see if the CALLERS.TMP, SFDOORS.DAT and the SFUSERS.DAT files are in the
specified directories. It then will read the callers record number from the
SFDOORS.DAT file and then search for the same number in the SFUSERS.DAT file.
When a match is made it will then retrieve the required information according
to the configuration file and write it to the CALLERS.TMP file, which is
later appended to the CALLERS.LOG. When LOGIT runs, there is no indication
either to the caller or to you the sysop. If there is a error, then LOGIT
will exit so the board can continue and will write to an LOGIT.ERR file the
date / time and type of error.
┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│≡ SECTION VIII : SHAREWARE NOTICE ≡│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘

freely copy, distribute, and/or share the program with others, as long as the
entire package remains in it's original unmodified state. A 30 day evaluation
period is granted. If you find that LOGIT suits your needs, then please

┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│≡ SECTION X : REGISTRATION / SUPPORT ≡│
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
LOGIT is not "crippled" in any way. The registered version functions the
same as the unregistered version. The only differences between the un-
registered version and the registered version is the "UnRegistered Evaluation
Copy" notice is included in the CALLERS.LOG. After registration this notice
is replaced with a dash line. After 35 days of unregistered use LOGIT will
cease to include any information and will place a expired notice in the
callers log. Future upgrades will be free to registered users.
To receive the registration code and serial number, print and complete the
order form included with this archive and mail it along with $2.25 U.S.
dollars to:
